Congratulations on your participation in the 2009 UCF Showcase of Undergraduate Research Excellence. The Showcase is quickly approaching. The event is scheduled for April 2, from 1:30-5:00 p.m. in the Pegasus Ballroom, Student Union.
We wanted to send you some important information about the event. Please send this to your student presenter co-authors, when applicable:
* Student check-in and presentation set-up will occur in the Ballroom anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. on April 2. After 11:30 p.m. the Ballroom will be closed for judging. Late presentations will not be included in the judging process.
* All projects will be provided with 4x2 ft of table space. Suggested guidelines for poster presentations are available at www.Showcase.ucf.edu. You must bring your own poster board for a printed poster.
* We have you scheduled to showcase your poster in the Arts and Humanities judging category.
* Student presenters are expected at the event between 1:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. unless you have class. We have you scheduled to stand by your poster from 1:40pm - 2:55pm to answer questions from the judges, other students, faculty and community members.
* All Showcase projects will be judged according to the criteria found at www.Showcase.ucf.edu.
* UCF President John C. Hitt will make opening remarks at 1:30 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., the Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Dr. Alison Morrison-Shetlar, will award scholarships to students adjudged to have the best Showcase projects in each category.
* After the scholarships are awarded, all participants will have to pick up their posters.
* Please invite family, friends, classmates, colleagues, and faculty mentors to attend the Showcase.
* For friends and family who cannot attend the event, the Showcase will be streaming live on April 2 at www.Showcase.ucf.edu.
